Your Part In God’s Plan! (Part 2) – BeGreat Devotional – January 16

Scripture Reference:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13

There is a huge difference between eagles and chickens. When you get a small neat place for chickens that becomes their palace.  They feel great in such a place; but when an eagle sees it, it gets angry. It feels like it cannot even pass a day there. Therefore, what excites someone may be annoying to another. It is not pride, it is vision.

A chicken could stay in the air for less than a minute, but an eagle could go all the way. There are both birds, yet they are not mates. While a chicken is busy picking grains all around, the eagle goes for fresh meat. That is mediocrity and short-sightedness. And that explains why many people don’t go far in life. It shows in the way they live their lives. A man of vision cannot be lazy or mediocre. Those things cannot attach themselves to him. Because he is seeing a future worth working towards.

It also shows in his lifestyle. What he eats. If a young man doesn’t have a vision for when he will be 60 years old, he could eat anything he sees or likes. Don’t eat as though there is no tomorrow. That’s a poor habit.

Daily digest: You won’t eat your future today if you are a man of vision.

Prayer: Lord, Let me dream of your plans for me. Let me walk in your plans. I set aside ambitious dreams. I pick my covenant dream. Thank you for I have become a pacesetter in Jesus’ precious name.
