Rom.8.6 – Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever]. (AMP)
We may not always understand why God leads us by His Spirit in certain ways. a lot of times it can’t logically be explained, but if we always follow His leading one most certain assurance is that the outcome of His leading is Life and Peace. God has never led anyone astray; not at any time. If we are going to walk well with God, we must trust in Him and lean not on our understanding (Prov. 3:5). Our minds will not always be able to factor in how things will work out as He leads us but what should give us restful confidence is the fact that the outcome of His leading is Life and Peace. Don’t judge God based on your present situation, if He is factored into your life situation whatsoever, you can be sure of victory.
A good example that can be used in the Bible to explain this is what happened when the disciples and Jesus entered into a boat going to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gerasenes (Mark 4:35-41).
Mark.4.37 – And a furious storm of wind [of hurricane proportions] arose, and the waves kept beating into the boat so that it was already becoming filled.
When the disciples had this experience, you can imagine how the human mind will begin to react to this kind of situation. They were still trying to recover from the fear that came into their heart when the storm started but matters became even worse when they found out Jesus was sleeping. The mind absolutely couldn’t comprehend what was happening and How His sleeping will help solve the problem. Angrily, they went and woke Jesus up said to Him:
Mark.4.38 – Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. Frantically they woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you even care that we are going to drown?”
We all will react to the situation the same way the disciples did, or even worse if we don’t have the mind of Christ. There is a raging storm that is almost sinking the boat and someone is in the boat sleeping…
You see, the way God thinks is not the same way a sense knowledge man thinks. If we are going to walk with God as we should, then we need revelational knowledge, and this is why we need to daily renew our minds with the Word of God.
The devil is a master manipulator of the sense realm, he knows how to manipulate circumstances to lead us to a disastrous end, but above all God in His wisdom knows how to manipulate whatever situation the devil is orchestrating to lead us to victory.
Rom.8.31 – What can we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
Rom.8.38,39 – And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Trust in the Lord, no matter what your present situation maybe, if you always acknowledge Him and yield to His leadings per time, be rest assured that the end will always result in victory.
Jer.10.23 – O Lord [pleads Jeremiah in the name of the people], I know that [the determination of] the way of a man is not in himself; it is not in man [even in a strong man or in a man at his best] to direct his [own] steps. (AMP)
Let Go and Let God!
Are you yet to accept Jesus Christ into your life? Say this short prayer; Lord, I acknowledge that I am a sinner, please I ask that you forgive my sins, I surrender my life to you, save me, heal me, deliver me and use me for Your glory and ’cause all things to work together for my Good. I am free from the bondage of fear! Amen.
God bless you!
