LAW OF DISCIPLINE – BeGreat Devotional

Scripture Reference: “Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Hebrew 12: 11

Life is a product of personal non-transferable adventures. You have to wake up to your destiny. No one can make a failure out of you except yourself. Never forget that. If you keep making excuses for failure, then you’re unteachable.

If it has to be, it is up to me. No one can ease your life for you. No one can visit the convenience on your behalf. Your wife can’t do that for you neither can anyone quenches your thirst for you. The same applies when you have to eat food, no one can feed on your behalf. That is a reality of life. Quit laying blame on your uncles, your aunties, your relatives or friends for your condition. Rise up and take responsibility today. As you take responsibility, you will grow. As you grow, God will commit greater things into your hands.

I remember as a young pastor when we started the church, (Global Impact Church, Surulere), we needed so much money, and I was secretly wishing that my mentors would at least help with some money. I thank God that they did not do it at that time. When you have such personal responsibilities, it forces you to grow. When you realize you have only two hundred naira to live by in a day, you will see how great a planner you are. When you have little and yet have big things to do, you would learn to prioritize.

The process of planning, prioritizing, and maximizing your resources will cause you to evolve as a great leader. You need to allow that process. It will enhance your leadership capacity. Some of the so-called help we’re looking for will cloud our destiny and limit our ability to fly. It is time for you to take personal responsibility for your destiny. What you have is enough if you can think. What you have is enough if you can plan. And as you plan with the so-called little, you will begin to enhance your capacity to plan, and then you can grow up and become the best that you could be.

Daily digest: Everything you have is enough if you can think. You can do so much with little if you can take responsibility today.

Prayer: I pray that out of His glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Amen
