God’s love for us demonstrated through the finished works of Christ and our faith towards it brings about salvation.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” – Ephesians 2:8 (KJV).
Righteousness is not attained through works i.e. how well we obey rules and laws, it is a product of God’s grace, and all we need to do is to receive by faith. The righteousness of God comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus paid the price – “the sacrifice for sin”, for us to receive the prize -“Righteousness”.
“For the death that He died, He died to sin [ending its power and paying the sinner’s debt] once and for all; and the life that He lives, He lives to [glorify] God [in unbroken fellowship with Him].” – Romans 6:10 (AMP).
We are God’s handy work, we are created by Him and for His purpose (Ephesians 2:10). We are products of God’s Grace and we should live by His Graces.
Everything we can ever have in Christ after salvation is as a result of God’s Grace but this is not a license to sin. Our duty as believers is to live by faith in Christ.
Grace is not a license to sin, Grace is the license to habitually live in the newness of life (Romans 6:1-4; 15-16, Romans 8:10-11).
When we understand this, anytime we pray or seek God, we will do it with meekness and awe. Because; “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;” – 2 Corinthians 3:5 (KJV).
Even though God told us through His Word to come boldly to His throne and obtain mercy, we must not come arrogantly. We are mere men that have been helped by God. Live with this consciousness that “I am a product of God’s Grace so I live through Him and for Him”.
Without God we are not worth much!
“For from Him [all things originate] and through Him [all things live and exist] and to Him are all things [directed]. To Him be glory and honor forever! Amen.” – Romans 11:36 (AMP)
