Topic: Peace Be Still
Text: Mark 4:35-41

This is one of the sermons I preached several years ago when there was fear in the Land.

Peace be Still. I preached this sermon different times, on various perspectives. But in all the various perspectives, there is one point that I mentioned over again. That if God is in your boat, there is no way the boat can sink. Those of you who are children of God and have Christ dwelling in you, relax.

Darkness can not overcome light. John 1:4-5.

There is no way death can overcome the one who says I will live forever. Revelation 1:18.

If you will allow the one who says I am the resurrection and the life to come and dwell in your life, then you have nothing to fear. John 11:25-26.

He made all things, and set limits for everything. Job 38: 8-9.

Everything obeys God because He made them. If Jesus is in your boat, your boat will not sink.

Some years ago, my first visit to Rivers State, at that time the only way to go is by sea. I asked who wants to come with me because shortly before that time, a boat capsized and several people died. Then I told them if you don’t want to go come late. One brother raised his hand and asked are you going I said yes he said he will be in my boat, I said you are welcome. I asked him, how are you so sure? He said I know the boat you will enter will not sink.

In Marriage:
Genesis 2 : 18 if Jesus is in your marriage, your marriage will not fail. Hebrews 13:5 Christ hates loneliness, John 15:1-2 He hates barrenness. Remind Him, He said in Genesis 1:28 be fruitful and multiply. If there is a storm in your marriage be sure He is already in before the storm comes, He will take care of the situation. John 2: 1-11.

You remembered the story of one of my daughters, whose husband left her with four children for another woman who had five children. We prayed a simple prayer that God will cause a problem between him and the other woman. Not long after that the husband and strange woman quarreled and he came back home begging. Every storm in your marriage will be still today in Jesus name.

In Business:
If God is in your business, your business can not go down. 3 John 1:2, God wants you to prosper. Psalm 35: 27, He has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. Job 36:11, obey Him, serve Him, you will enjoy prosperity. If there is a storm in your business remind Him that in Luke 5: 1-7, when there was a storm in the business of Peter, he turned the tide.

Remember the story of a man who had a quarrel with his wife and she told him by the time I finish with you, you will trek in Lagos. He laughed, he had fourteen cars. Little by little, the cars started going when he was left with one car, he had just 50 kobo in his pocket . He found his way to Ebute Metta and gave his life to Christ. He gave this testimony dedicating two houses.

Call him into your business and your business will not go down. If your business is going through a storm, just remember there is someone called the Prince of Peace, invite him in.

In conclusion of the matter, If God is not in your boat when the storm comes, who will you call?

A lot of people may be mocking us now, those mocking us are not so loud anymore. Somebody pointed out that even priest have died, who told you that being a priest makes you holy? The Lord knows those who are his. He knows those who are serving him truly and those who are pretenders.

If you have not given your life to Jesus Christ, before it is too late, you better surrender to him now.

I know there are some very intelligent people who will say there is a scientifical explanation, it is written in Proverbs 1:24-27 because you won’t listen to me, a time is coming when you begin to tremble in fear that I will laugh. Those of you that want to surrender, do so now before it is too late.
