A NEW FAMILY TREE – BeGreat Devotional – May 1

Scripture Reference: And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakes of the root and fatness of the olive tree” – Romans 11:17

For every book, there is an author; for every poem, there is a poet; for every creature, there is a creator. For every product, there is manufacturer. Every product has a purpose. You are born an original, created to solve a particular problem.

We never determine our purpose; we are called to discover them. When we discover purpose, we can truly begin to live. God has a defined purpose for your life; it is open for your discovery. I want to ask you a question. What do you see? In spite of your past mistakes, family background, academic qualifications, in Christ you are grafted into an excellent purpose. In Christ, you have been uprooted from wherever you were sucking from. Now you get nourished from a new tree, a new covenant. You now have a hope and a future. Let your thinking match your new planting. No more of the old stock. Just like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, you are now a child of promise, grafted for a particular purpose that must give praise to God.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for your great plans for me. I receive your plans. Open my eyes to my ‘place’. Let me dream your plans for me. Let me walk into your plans. I set aside ambitious dreams. I pick my covenant dream. Thank you for I have become a pacesetter in Jesus’ precious name.
