9 POWERFUL WORKS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE LIFE OF A Believer – Apostle Emmanuel Makarios

1. The Holy Spirit Brings Justification and Life
When we become born again we become born of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes and cleanses and fills us. He gives us life and we become a new creature in Christ!
The work of the Spirit is to impart life, to implant hope, to give liberty, to testify of Christ, to guide us into all truth, to teach us all things, to comfort the believer, and to convict the world of sin.
[John 3:5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

2. The Holy Spirit Fills the Believer.
When we are dry, the Holy Spirit refreshes! When we are empty or low, He fills us! When we are overflowing He keeps pouring!
This is who He is! When we come to Him no matter where we are at He revives us. And we are encouraged to be filled with Him! He is willing to touch our lives if we would just go to Him.
[Ephesians 5:18] And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

3. The Holy Spirit Fellowships with us.
The Holy Spirit actually desires relationship with us! He wants to partner with us so that we can walk in freedom and experience all the goodness the Lord has for us!
[2 Corinthians 13:14] The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.

4. The Holy Spirit Counsels and Comforts us.
The Holy Spirit is our counselor, comforter and helper.
[Isaiah 11:2] And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

5. The Holy Spirit Empowers us.
The Holy Spirit who is all powerful is willing to empower us. He empowers us to be witnesses, and he also empowers with the gifts of the Spirit for the building up of the church.
[Acts 1:8] But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

6. The Holy Spirit Teaches and Reminds us.
I love this about the Holy Spirit! He does so much already, but then He goes beyond and teaches us and reminds us. Experience is not the Best Teacher, The Holy Spirit is the Best Teacher.
[John 14:26] But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

7. The Holy Spirit Bears Good Fruit in our Lives.
It’s clear that when we walk in the Spirit we will produce the fruit of the Spirit. This fruit is a byproduct of time spent with Him. It’s not a byproduct of going to church or being able to recite Bible verses. Those are great things, but the fruit of the Spirit comes from a lifestyle of fellowship and prayer with the Holy Spirit.
When you are missing peace or joy in your life, I can guarantee you it’s because you are neglecting your time with God.
[Galatians 5:22-23] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

8. The Holy Spirit Convicts us.
The wages of sin is death, and the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Conviction may not always be a fun feeling. But the Holy Spirit uses us to help protect us from the ramifications of sin and harm. When we feel convicted and we turn and repent. We break off the power the enemy tries to have on us and those around us. And sometimes the conviction is not over HUGE things. Sometimes the Holy Spirit with convict you of gossiping or saying something hurtful.
[John 16:8-11] And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

9. The Holy Spirit brings Freedom.
When the Holy Spirit is present bondage, fear, pain, and more get broken off of us. He transforms us so that we can be more like Him.
