Joy is so powerful that the Bible says that “A cheerful heart makes you healthy. But a broken spirit dries you up.” Proverbs 17:22 NIRV
Isn’t that amazing!!!
The same way we are painstakingly careful to take medication prescribed by a doctor to ward off sickness, so also our Great Physician, Dr Jesus, prescribed joy as the ultimate medicine to ward off not just physical sickness but even emotional pain.
Now we understand why the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
Be intentional about being joyful. There are so many things that can steal our joy right from the moment you get out of bed, but when you consciously build joy triggers into your daily life, it’s easier to maintain that joyful mode.
For instance, you can download praise songs into your media device and listen to them anywhere you are. Praises trigger God’s presence and in His presence is fullness of joy (Psalm 100: Psalm 16:11.
I am not disadvantaged. Each day has great opportunities for me. I am a victor and not a victim. The joy of the Lord is my strength. I choose joy. Amen.
