Scripture reference: “…Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength” – Nehemiah 8:10, NLT.
Never let anything steal your joy! This may seem hard to achieve with the prevalence of bad news and reports that always bombards our space at every turn. We tend to naturally gravitate towards bad news. ‘Like they say, it’s no news if it’s not bad news.’
However, Jesus told his disciples (and us) in John 16:33, that in the world, we will experience trials, challenges and tribulations but in the midst of all of that, He encourages that we ‘cheer up’, because He has overcome the world.
There’s always a God-perspective in any challenge we face. This is why if you lose anything, remember God is the reason why you haven’t lost everything. If you lose your job and you feel so discouraged and depressed, switch on the force of joy. Choose to see things from God’s perspective. You’ll then see so many things He has done for you that will get you excited, joyful and hopeful.
Without joy, you can’t see the way out of predicaments or challenges. “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” – Isaiah 12:3 KJV
