Scripture Reference: “He who covers and forgives an offense, seeks love, but he who repeats or harps on a matter separates even close friends” – Proverbs 17:9 AMP
Love is the way to victory. Paul succinctly declares, “Love never fails”. John Mason gave a poetic tune to it when he said, “Love will find a way, everything else will find an excuse”. This is descriptive of Joseph. He had ample reasons to retaliate or seek vengeance, but love will always find a way. Joseph found a way-the way forward. He said, “You meant it for evil but God meant it for good”. Joseph actually walked in love. Love is practical. It goes beyond words. We should love in deed.
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing” -1 Corinthians 13:1-3.I am awed by the fact that as a member of the body of Christ, I could do all these things that the above scripture outlines without love. Does it mean that I can give to the poor all my goods without love? Yes!
It’s important to see that love as the ingredient that makes it all work. Having a vision, sowing financially, having all faith and the like, all work by love. What is love? It is our motives, our desire to treat others the way we want to be treated.
Daily digest: Love is not judgmental. Love will find a way.
Prayer: Lord, first of all, I receive the unconditional love you have for me. Only then can I be able to love others the way you love me. Thank you for loving me, in Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
