Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!” – Mathew 26:41NLT
Just like we saw yesterday, the devil is aware of both our minor and major weaknesses. He brings it out like a ‘joker’ card, because he believes that is the end of the game.
For Peter, the devil knew that under pressure he would give up just like he did while he walked on water to meet Jesus on the sea. No wonder the Lord said ‘Peter, Peter, Satan has desire to sift you but I have prayed for you; that your faith does not collapse under pressure.’
What brought David down was not anger. He didn’t have an issue with that; but those women that were singing the devil’s chorus. He had issue with women. Have you ever asked yourself why was it that it was the time the guy decided to walk on the roof of the palace that Beersheba also was in the bathroom bathing? It was a satanic arrangement – playing on his weak-point. It was no coincidence, it was a demonic orchestration. That’s spiritual warfare. It shows that the devil also gathers his intelligence.
You must know that weak-point of yours and do everything to overcome it. That’s where a Christian’s victory starts from. Ask the Lord to pray for you too. He has a ministry of intercession. He is seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. It was his prayer that saved Peter. It can save you too.
Daily digest: Prayer is still the best counter attack on Satan’s antics.
Prayer: I declare that I walk in the spirit hence I do not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Rather I walk in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, benevolence, faithfulness, meekness, and self-control. Amen
