Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!” – Mathew 26:41NLT
You have both minor and major weaknesses, and the devil is aware of them. He capitalises on your major weak-points. It’s like playing cards; he brings it out to you like a ‘joker’, because he believes that is the end of the game. He feels if every other thing fails, that will not. He knows your history and he always reserves that for when he would need it – when it matters most. He gathers intelligence about you before he launches his major attack against your life and destiny.
He knew from Moses’ history that with a little pressure he could turn violent and provoked. He knew that when he was once angry he killed an Egyptian and hid him in the sand. So, he continuously kept pressure on that area of his life until Moses eventually gave in to anger when it mattered most. Just at the point of entry into the promised-land after decades in the wilderness, anger robbed him of divine purpose.
You know what that area is in your life. Obviously, it is not the same for everyone. It could be low self-esteem, pride, lust after money or women; you know it and the enemy does too. He knows once he touches that hidden fault of yours, you could fall like a pack of cards. His intention is to use that against you when it most matters – like he did to Moses.
Daily digest: Resist the devil and he will flee.
Prayer: I declare that I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; I am dead to sin. I put to death all earthly inclination – adultery, fornication, impurity, sensual passion, unholy desire and all greed. Amen
