Certain aspects of social science that deals with the study of human behaviour has shown us how insatiable the wants of man are , thus the need for a balance system known as scale of preference to control the wants that are major.
The different parts of our body that responds to the environment naturally want different wants to be satisfied where they are concerned. The mouth wants to talk excessively and eat many things at the same time, the ear wants to keep listening to those negative contents that contaminates the mind, it appears we can’t just keep our eyes of that tempting sight until we are so carried away into something else.
My dear friend, let this stay with you:
Your senses are the entrance into your mind (which is the center for reality production) and if the contents that comes through the entrance are not controlled , the mind will be contaminated. Self-control is the great city wall you must build around the entrances to your mind to control what enters and what doesn’t so that you don’t put your life under siege by yourself.
Be moderate in your approach to things. Don’t talk too much , view but don’t look too much , you can be pained but refuse offence, regularize what you listen to as much as possible, not all contents are relevant for your consumption.
Finally , you need the sanity of your mind to be productive in life. Self-control is the great wall you build around your precious city (your life) to keep it in order. Keep the below statement in heart till we I write to you again:
Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. – Proverbs 25:28
