For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which He hath spoken of him.” Genesis 18:18, 19
God is looking at your family. I told my children it is better to say the truth and face the music than to lie and think you’ve escaped. Lying is worse for me. I cannot stand it, and I drove that home to all of them. God knew what Abraham was going to do with his household. He knew He could trust him with the blessing.
We ought to walk in God’s covenant and transfer the same to our household. Abraham was a tither, so was Isaac and Jacob. Abraham was sold out to God. He could give anything to Him. There is nothing you have that you should not be able to give to God. That is a test of your friendship.
Abraham gave Isaac to God and He gave him a nation in return. Abraham was totally sold-out to God. I discovered that it is in that selling-out that our destiny comes out! God made a demand on a child he had waited on Him to have for 25 years; however, he woke up the following day, saddled his donkey, never discussed it with his wife and was ready to give Isaac up! That was the secret of Abraham’s greatness.
