Scripture Reference: “I beseechyou therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God”. Romans 12: 1 – 2
I remember the words above from Apostle Paul. He gave an illustration of how we can experience personal change. He said, “We are to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.” The word “transformed” there also refers to metamorphosis. We are changed as we renew our minds. Our minds are renewed with the injection of new and relevant information. The fresh information creates a new paradigm. It enhances the flow of new ideas, concepts and strategies. This, in turn, will change our approach to things.
I want to emphasis here the power of reading. As it is said, ‘Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.’ Many people are living in the past because they are dealing with expired information. You need to give the engine of your mind enough grains to grind so that it can churn out buoyant and powerful ideas to live with.
Reading transforms a man. When you have the right information, it creates new ideas. It creates a new approach to things. And as you renew your mind, you undergo a metamorphosis – you are transformed!
