THEME: WHERE DOES MY GLORY LIE
People ask this question a lot and sometimes I wonder why they do, knowing fully well that they are God’s children and are partakers of His glory. Before the the question is answered I would like us to fully grasp the meaning of God’s glory and why it is so important for us Christians to acknowledge its existence in our life.
Glory from the Latin word Gloria is used to describe the manifestation of God’s presence as perceived by humans.
What is divine glory?
Divine glory is an important motif throughout Christianity where God is regarded as the most glorious being in existence and it is considered that humans are created in the image of God and can share or participate, imperfectly, in divine glory as image-bearers. Oh wow, I wonder why we are admonished as Christians to participate in the divine instruction below.
Isaiah 60:1 (KJV) Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
So where does it lie?
Psalms 62:7 (KJV) In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
We can see from the above scripture that the question has been answered. Yes it has. Your glory, my glory, our glory lies with Jesus.
Hebrews 1:3 (KJV) Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Jesus is the manifestation of God’s glory and it is convincingly glare that without Him you are not a partaker of this glory. 1 Corinthians 2:7 talks about Him being ordained for our glory.
The lilies are clothed in splendor. Will He not use that same tender care to clothe us in His glory? He wraps us in His love, clothes us in His splendor, and surrounds us with His presence. This is glory.
Now are you a partaker of this glory? That begs the question. Are you in Jesus? If so, Yes you are entitled to this Glory. Well if you are not, it’s so easy to enjoy this splendour. All of you have to do is give your life to Jesus because we as sinners have fallen short of this ordained glory. (Romans 3:23).
Accept Him today as your lord and personal saviour this is the only guaranteed way you can enjoy the everlasting glory of the one who sits on the throne.
