It’s no longer a news that the most discussed present crisis in the world is Covid19. And as a result, it has stopped a lot of activities which includes; religious activities, shut down of schools, markets etc.
As believers we shouldn’t be carried away by this global pandemic called corona virus. This virus has caused a lot of fear in the lives of many, it has also brought about different mindset in the heart of men. Truly the world is coming to an end. Different things are happening all over the world.
What is expected of us as believers?
God does not want us to be in fear, this pandemic is beyond physical, let’s think about it.
“A spiritual man judges all things by the spirit.” – 1 Corinthians 2:15a
Even as we stay safe, sanitizing and ensuring other safety measures. We should also pray and study the Word of God more. This is the time when we need to hold fast to God and His Word. We shouldn’t be consumed by fear and denounce our faith. Let’s stand in our faith as Christians.
“The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” – Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)
See the name of God above this crisis because the name of Jesus really is the name above every other name.
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:9-11 (KJV)
“But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” – Daniel 11:32b (KJV)
The name of Jesus (Lord) is forever relevant.
As Christians, we are meant to do the needful and stand firm; practice our faith and hold on to what we have believed. We shouldn’t be fearful. We need to rise up and take responsibility.
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” – 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
