Romans 8:14, “For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.” (AMP).
To guide means to lead. God guides His children, as a an earthly father guides his son. He does not derive joy to see us go astray. You can’t tell me you’re God’s son/daughter and you’ll keep disobeying Him. The Scripture says; Those that are led by the Holy Spirit are the sons/daughters of God.
After receiving the life of Christ, the Holy Spirit lives in us to guide us. But its actually one thing for someone willing to help you and its another thing for one to receive it. In the sense that, the Holy Spirit is always willing to guide us, ensuring we are on the right track and doing things that are Holy, but its another thing for us to subject ourselves to His directions.
Subjecting oneself to His directions goes beyond just mouth service but expressions in action because only then can we be rightly guided not acting in our own so called wisdom. When we are guided by the Holy Spirit, He gives us an assurance because His ways are always sure so we don’t have to be in a state of confusion whether it will work out or not. The Holy Spirit is still the best guide anyone can have. He guides and sees you through till the very end.
There’s a need for our flesh to die, so that the Holy Spirit can lead us (Gal 2:20). Apostle Paul said I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. In this day and age, how many of us can totally submit to the Holy Spirit for Him to guide our path. The flesh has to die. The pride of life, lust of the flesh and eye has to become extinct. Apostle Paul surrendered himself to the Holy Spirit for guidance.
Zec 4:6-7, The mountains before Zerubbabel could be sickness, sorrow, confused purpose, unemployment, financial crisis, Spiritual decrement, family crisis e.t. c. But through the guidance of the Holy Spirit he was able to overcome.
2 Corinthians 3:5 “Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.”
By strength shall no man prevail. We need the Holy Spirit to guide us through the thick and thin of this life. His guidance will help us to know what to do per time and we won’t be misled.
You can’t have access to the Holy Spirit if you’ve not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour. He can’t help you if you don’t know Him, He only help those He knows their identities.
If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour kindly say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, come into my life, I believe you died and resurrected for me. Write my name in the book of life and blot out all my sins. Thank you Lord.
If you’ve have said the following prayer, I congratulate you, welcome to the family of Christ. I assure you that you have the Holy Spirit and He will help you in the journey of your Christian walk.
