The first assignment of the Holy Spirt is to lead us into genuine repentance resulting to new bith (John 16:8) “And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment:” (AMP)
When that happens, He dwells in our spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16), “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?”(NIV)
Helping us to remain in righteousness, through Holiness (Ezekiel 36:27, Eph. 1:4). “And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them.”(AMP) “For He chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love”(NIV)
The indwelling of the Holy Spirit helps us to produce fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (NIV)
The infilling of the Holy Spirit enables us to do exploits (Act 1:8; 10:38). “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (NIV) “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.” (NIV)
Intimacy with God is only possible through THE HOLY SPIRIT (Romans 8:14, Gal.5:16) “For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” (NIV) “So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” (NIV)
Continue in constant fellowship with God!
