The Universal organ for knowing the moral and ethical will of God is man’s conscience. We are at peace when our conscience is at peace.
The Conscience is the inward part of man, the organ that reveals God’s moral truth to man.
The Ability to discern Good from evil and right from wrong is by the help of man’s conscience. The Conscience helps us monitor what is good or evil and what is right or wrong.
Behind the Conscience stands the authority of God Himself. If we violate our conscience through disobedience, we will not be in right standing with God. Violating the Conscience causes a person to loose fellowship with God.
The Conscience works in three ways
It speaks to us before we commit an act of Sin, During the Sin and after the Sin (Romans 2:14-15).
14. When Gentiles who have not the [divine] Law do instinctively what the Law requires, they are a law to themselves, since they do not have the Law.
15. They show that the essential requirements of the Law are written in their hearts and are operating there, with which their consciences (sense of right and wrong) also bear witness; and their [moral] decisions (their arguments of reason, their condemning or approving thoughts) will accuse or perhaps defend and excuse [them] – (AMP).
